You better watch out! You better not Shout!
The holidays are just around the corner! Guess that was means in the life of a designer. Designs for the holidays galore. Everywhere you look people are thinking ahead to make sure deadlines are met for holiday promotions. It not a bad thing just funny how cyclical life is probably in every profession in someway or another. This was a project I did for a freelance client in Orlando.

Photography Site
I just recently launched my photography site. Now, I know what you are thinking there are some amazing Orlando Photographers out there. If I must say so myself my works not too shabby and it's getting better all the time (oh, wait that's Winn Dixie's slogan). The site will be constantly tweaked for a while as it's still a work in progress and as they say an artists work is never done! As of now it's up for the world to see. Check out my work. I heart design and photography!

Concepts for MS

This was a for an internal annual meeting for MS. To celebrate those who come together to raise awareness and funds for MS. The meeting needed to be themed. I came up with a fictitious name to set a theme. I also concepted and executed the copy and design. This theme was established and then concepts were provided to be carried out during the meeting.

Penelope & Buster
I got the opportunity to work on establishing a brand for a boutique line of kids clothing. I did a photo shoot a few weeks ago and I enjoyed being behind the lens. The project is a work in progress but I have been involved in the entire branding process to date and it is nice to see it getting off the ground.
Here is a peak at what I have been up to.

Helvetica Film
AIGA Orlando is screening the film and it should be good.
Helvetica Film
Friday, September 21, 2007
Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface (which will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2007) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives. The film is an exploration of urban spaces in major cities and the type that inhabits them, and a fluid discussion with renowned designers about their work, the creative process, and the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type.
Helvetica encompasses the worlds of design, advertising, psychology, and communication, and invites us to take a second look at the thousands of words we see every day.
The film was shot in high-definition on location in the United States, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France and Belgium. It is currently screening at film festivals and special events worldwide.
Interviewees in Helvetica include some of the most illustrious and innovative names in the design world, including Erik Spiekermann, Matthew Carter, Massimo Vignelli, Wim Crouwel, Hermann Zapf, Neville Brody, Stefan Sagmeister, Michael Bierut, David Carson, Paula Scher, Jonathan Hoefler, Tobias Frere-Jones, Experimental Jetset, Michael C. Place, Norm, Alfred Hoffmann, Mike Parker, Bruno Steinert, Otmar Hoefer, Leslie Savan, Rick Poynor, Lars Müller, and many more.

The You Tube debates are video questions sent in by Americans and were played during the debates and responded to by the candidates. Good questions were asked. There are more to come on CNN.

Get my kicks!

Last year I stumbled across a kick ass photographer, Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir who I respect to no end. I thought I would share her work in hopes of spreading a little inspiration. She actually lived in Florida for a while and is from Iceland. I have heard the light is amazing in Iceland and her photos are proof of that.

On her blog and flickr page she explains in detail her techniques and reasoning behind her photography. I have spent hours looking at her work and on many occasions. I hope you enjoy her talent as much as I do.

Musee d'Orsay

If you are ever in Paris check out Musee d'Orsay. It is my top pick for European museums. The museum was created largely from the Louvre's collection, from the works of artists born after 1820. There is an amazing collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. I felt like I was flipping through the pages of my art history books. It would have been amazing to study art or any history for that matter in Europe. Seeing everything in person leaves an impression in the mind not to be forgotten. The same cannot be said for reading or seeing the same thing in a book.

Leonardo da Vinci
When we were in Europe we came across Leonardo a few times. This website shows his life in a timeline and his work. Interesting and educational. Check it out!
